Between 31 August and 2 September 2026, Mofreita took part in Oslo Design Fair 2026, as part of the LIVING IN BETWEEN – Where Portuguese Design Finds Its Place exhibition, presented by Associative Design® – The Best of Portugal.
Conceived as a spatial narrative, LIVING IN BETWEEN brings together different expressions of contemporary Portuguese design, showcasing furniture, lighting, textiles and decorative objects in environments designed for different moments of everyday life. The exhibition sought to highlight how Portuguese design combines craftsmanship, industrial expertise and innovation, giving rise to contemporary solutions with a distinctive identity.
Mofreita in an international context
Mofreita’s participation in Oslo Design Fair represented another opportunity to bring the company’s expertise in joinery and bespoke projects to an international context.
On this occasion, the brand presented REVIVE, a project dedicated to the reuse of wood and the creation of solid wood pieces that respect the history and identity of each raw material.
With REVIVE, wood is given a new life, transformed into raw pieces ready to be customised or into finished pieces with unique designs. More than a collection, the project represents a philosophy that values the reuse of wood and respect for its natural life cycle.
The wood used in REVIVE comes from trees that have fallen naturally, have been removed for safety reasons, cleared to make way for infrastructure, or sourced from vacant and demolished houses. By recovering these raw materials, Mofreita preserves their authenticity and transforms them into visually striking pieces, responsibly produced and designed to endure.
When a tree is felled for reasons other than those mentioned above, Mofreita contributes to the continuity of the species by planting new trees, helping to preserve the habitat and the natural balance of the region.
Through an approach that combines technical expertise, precision and a deep appreciation for wood as a raw material, Mofreita took part in this showcase of the best Portugal has to offer in design, and was also honoured by a visit from the Ambassador of Portugal to Norway, Pedro Pessoa e Costa.
The fair therefore provided an opportunity to present a contemporary perspective on the brand’s work, demonstrating how wood can be crafted and integrated into projects with different languages and contexts.
LIVING IN BETWEEN – Where Portuguese Design Finds Its Place
The LIVING IN BETWEEN exhibition offers an interpretation of Portuguese design through the spaces we inhabit, work in and share. Rather than simply presenting individual pieces, the exhibition created environments where different areas of design come together and establish relationships with one another.
It was within this context that Mofreita presented its work, bringing the experience of a company that combines exceptional joinery, technical expertise and bespoke solutions for national and international projects.
Mofreita’s participation in Oslo Design Fair therefore reinforced the company’s commitment to taking Portuguese quality and craftsmanship beyond borders, in a market increasingly attentive to authenticity, material quality and excellence in execution.
Oslo Design Fair 2026 took place at NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm, where Mofreita was present at Stand D02-24, from 31 August to 2 September, providing an opportunity to showcase the best of contemporary Portuguese design, as well as the world of bespoke joinery.
