Between 31 August and 2 September 2026, Mofreita took part in Oslo Design Fair 2026, as part of the LIVING IN BETWEEN – Where Portuguese Design Finds Its Place exhibition, promoted by Associative Design® – The Best of Portugal.
Conceived as a spatial narrative, LIVING IN BETWEEN brought together different expressions of contemporary Portuguese design, presenting furniture, lighting, textiles and decorative objects in settings created for different moments of everyday life. The exhibition sought to highlight how Portuguese design combines craftsmanship, industrial expertise and innovation to create contemporary solutions with a distinctive identity. The space and stand were curated by Salet Peixinho.
Mofreita in an international context
Mofreita’s participation in Oslo Design Fair was part of a business mission promoted by AIMMP – Associação das Indústrias de Madeira e Mobiliário de Portugal, within the scope of the INTER WOOD & FURNITURE 25/26 project, under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation.
Held in Oslo from 31 August to 2 September 2026, the mission aimed to support the internationalisation of Portuguese companies in the wood, furniture and decoration sectors, strengthening their presence and visibility in the Norwegian market.
At the same time, as part of Associative Design – The Best of Portugal’s promotional strategy, participation in Oslo Design Fair provided an opportunity to showcase the Portuguese interiors sector in an international context, bringing companies, professionals and potential partners closer together. For Mofreita, this initiative was an opportunity to present its expertise in joinery and bespoke projects, as well as the quality of its craftsmanship, technical capabilities and personalised approach that define the brand.
On this occasion, the brand presented REVIVE, a project dedicated to the reuse of wood and the creation of solid wood pieces that respect the history and identity of each raw material.
With REVIVE, wood is given a new life, transformed either into raw pieces ready to be customised or into finished pieces with a unique design. More than a collection, the project represents a philosophy that values the reuse of wood and respect for its natural life cycle.
The wood used in REVIVE comes from trees that have fallen naturally, have been removed for safety reasons or infrastructure construction, as well as from abandoned and demolished buildings. By recovering these materials, Mofreita preserves their authenticity and transforms them into visually striking pieces, responsibly produced and designed to last.
When a tree is felled for reasons other than those mentioned above, Mofreita contributes to the continuity of the species by planting new trees, helping to preserve the habitat and the natural balance of the region.
Combining technical expertise, precision and a deep appreciation for wood as a raw material, Mofreita became part of this showcase of some of the best that Portugal has to offer in the field of design.
During Oslo Design Fair, the Mofreita stand also welcomed Pedro Pessoa e Costa, Ambassador of Portugal to Norway, in a moment that further strengthened Portugal’s visibility and representation within this international setting.
The fair therefore provided an opportunity to present a contemporary perspective on Mofreita’s work, demonstrating how wood can be crafted and integrated into projects with different styles and contexts.
LIVING IN BETWEEN – Where Portuguese Design Finds Its Place
The LIVING IN BETWEEN exhibition offered a perspective on Portuguese design through the spaces in which we live, work and connect. Rather than presenting individual pieces in isolation, the exhibition created environments where different areas of design came together and interacted with one another.
It was within this context that Mofreita presented its work, bringing the experience of a company that combines exceptional joinery, technical expertise and bespoke solutions for national and international projects.
Mofreita’s presence in Oslo further strengthened the brand’s positioning in a context where authenticity, the quality of materials and excellence in craftsmanship are particularly valued, placing its know-how in dialogue with different perspectives on contemporary design.
Oslo Design Fair 2026 took place at NOVA Spektrum, in Lillestrøm, where Mofreita was present at Stand D02-24, from 31 August to 2 September, providing an opportunity to showcase the best of contemporary Portuguese design, as well as the world of bespoke joinery.
